Statistics: Russia’s inflation at 0.26% in January 31–Monday

MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s consumer price inflation accelerated to 0.26% from January 31 through Monday from 0.21% in the previous week, and reached 1% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Wednesday.

The prices for buckwheat fell by 1.01%, for tea by 0.6%, for pork by 0.53%, for poultry and sausages by 0.3%, and for salt and millet by 0.2%. But the prices for cheeses gained 0.4%, for pasteurized milk and sour cream by 0.3%, and for beef and eggs by 0.2%.

The prices for fruit and vegetables grew by 5.1% on average. The price for cucumbers increased by 12.7%, for onions by 11.5%, for tomatoes by 4.6%, for carrots by 3%, for bananas by 2.4%, and for beetroot by 1.9%.

The gasoline prices remained flat while the diesel fuel prices contracted by 0.2%.
